SilverSneakers Classes                                                               

SilverSneakers group exercise classes are appropriate for older adults who are fit and active as well as those who are sedentary, intimidated, unfamiliar with exercise, entering post-rehabilitation programs and ALL those who enjoy a positive, upbeat social environment.


SilverSneakers® I Class -- Muscular Strength & Range of Movement                        

SilverSneakers I -- Muscular Strength & Range of Movement is a trademarked group exercise class designed for older adults. Exercises include work for all major and minor muscle groups addressing strength, flexibility, muscular endurance, balance, coordination, agility, speed and power.

The class format includes a warm-up and rhythmic range of movement stretch, work with resistance tools, cool down, final stretch and relaxation segment. It is an equipment-based, multi-level, total body conditioning class in which students use hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, a SilverSneakers playball and a chair for standing and/or seated support.


SilverSneakers® II – Cardio Circuit Class                                                              
 
Cardio Circuit is an advanced group exercise class designed for SilverSneakers students who have expressed a desire for more cardiovascular and muscular endurance conditioning and have experience with exercise activities requiring advanced levels of agility, balance and coordination. SilverSneakers II – Cardio Circuit is a non-impact cardiovascular conditioning class presented in a circuit format with alternating resistance tool work and aerobic conditioning choreography.

All class formats and choreography options meet industry standards for older adult fitness outlined by all accrediting professional organizations and curriculum guidelines from the International Society for Aging and Physical Activity (ISAPA).
